it’s the last full day!

it’s so strange; this day has gone by so, so quickly. luckily we have two full hours to change/get ready for the “gala” (to me, it’s just a dance). tonight should be very exciting!

it’s a bittersweet goodbye, all of us leaving tomorrow afternoon without any idea whether or not we’ll see each other again. although i’m ready to go back home to my family, friends, and, most of all, my bed, i want to take everyone with me! we all feel like we’ve known each other for years and years; it’s a really crazy thing. this experience has been one of a kind, and i’m so glad i got this opportunity.

my blogs are too repetitive! i need to learn to be more creative…? i have a million things i could talk about but i really just want to talk about this conference and how much fun i’ve had. time to get ready for the gala!

the blog site has finally gotten repaired!

it’s amazing to think we all just arrived here at mason literally three days ago. we’ve gotten so close and have made some once-in-a-lifetime bonds. these days have gone by so fast, so everyone’s trying to make the most of it. we’re having the best time together – although waking up at the crack of dawn isn’t exactly the most exciting “bonding” experience – and we’ve really learned so much from one another.

it’s incredible that every senior here has the same drive, determination, and passion in every aspect of their lives. the people i’ve been around this week have taught me that it’s ok to act silly, to be nerdy, and to speak up no matter what. an opportunity like this also allows us to see things from other people’s perspectives, and to meet people from all different states. never did i think i would be able to go shopping with a girl from indiana i’d met just a day before, or become close friends with a boy from new jersey – which is the opposite of north carolina, seriously – but i’m so glad i’ve met these people. they’re amazing friends, and the experiences we’ve had together will keep us in each other’s lives forever.

Well I’m not sure if I’m doing this right but hopefully I am! Today is (was) day one of this sure-to-be-exciting Washington D.C. excursion. I met plenty of new people and I’m trying very hard to remember everyone’s names! But my “group” seems really, really laid-back and cool, so kudos for all of my “groupies” (no, I do not mean it like that) reading this and hearing my compliment! I have to turn in, however, because I’m waking up bright and early, early, early!

Hello world!
